Barry Sandland - Owner

Barry started Dancing at age 10 with his mother as partner and took his first lesson at 12. At 15, he had Dance classes going at the boarding school he attended. At age 18 he graduated from school and entered London University. Then came a telephone call which was to change his life. "Congratulations, you have won a free Dance lesson at Arthur Murray's."

He went, signed up, working at weekends in a factory to pay for his lessons. Soon he was offered a job at the studio. He took it, married his boss and together they immigrated to America. In LA he taught ballroom, had his own Adagio Act with his wife and studied ballet, tap, jazz and choreography.

After winning titles as a competitive Dancer, he became a judge, examiner and AMI Dance Board Member. He is fully qualified with the 'Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing'.

Wendy Givens

Born with one foot "backwards" Wendy has come a long way to our select family of professional teachers. The foot problem was addressed while still an infant with part of the recommended therapy, "exercise", in the form of swimming and dancing.

She excelled at the swimming which enabled her to spend more time on the Dancing which was her true love. Wendy was in her first Dance Recital at age 4 at which she was reluctant to leave the stage

Jeff Rains

I started dancing with Arthur Murray's in Hampton, Virginia many years ago and later moved to Fred Astaire's. My career eventually brought me here to central Florida and the sunshine in 1987, where I taught on Merritt Island until 2000.

That is when I joined the Satellite Beach TC Dance Club with Mr. Sandland and the late Mr. Chapman (TC). This has become home for me and has provided me with a wonderfully secure lifestyle,

Erica Kessinger

Erica Kessinger is our warm, friendly and efficient receptionist

She is perhaps the only female ever to not like to dance. She does however love to be around all at the Satellite Beach Club and takes great care of us all.

At 23 he was managing the 5th Avenue Arthur Murray Studio, NYC. During his years in NY he met and befriended Tom Chapman, who had highly successful studios in the bay area and Kansas City. They took the AM franchise for Europe and opened studios in England together.

Arthur Murray retired in the 70's so Tom and Barry decided to go it alone. The birth of TC Dance Clubs. Now, many years later, there are numerous associated studios throughout the US. Tom & Barry remained business partners until Tom passed away in 2003. Barry opened in Satellite Beach, Florida on December 31st 1994, and here he plans to stay in Brevard County.

Robin Postal

I became a dancing machine following John Travolta's "Saturday Night Fever" in the 70's and haven't stopped since.

Sorry - did take some time off to become a chiropractic assistant with a view to becoming a Chiropractor... Dancing seems a more fun way of getting and keeping people in shape. I joined Satellite before it opened. I was trained by Mr. Sandland in Orlando after being drawn to dance in the 70's as part of the "Dance Fever" craze that swept the country both on television and in the Clubs of South Florida.

and had to be dragged off. You'll be a Dancer someday, her teacher proclaimed!Wendy soon became extremely active in Musical Theatre with her most recent performance in a production of "Annie Get Your Gun" as the lead dancer.

Wendy is a refreshing and alive addition to our Satellite Beach team. Her enthusiasm and positive attitude is a delight.

a permanent position and a fabulous Studio to teach in. A few of my former students have gone on to become instructors themselves or open their own studios. I am now far too happy to look for a "real" job.

Before Rob started his dance career he was taking lessons in Ballroom and Latin in California. His first teaching position was at his father's Arthur Murray Studio in Rhode Island. Later he became involved in teaching social and competitive dancing at franchised studios in Boston.

Somewhere in this journey he managed to serve in The Marine Corps and study Visual Arts at Rhode Island School of Design.

A local born protégé. For the vast majority of Richard's life, he has been involved with Theater, Drama and Fine Arts and has always considered himself an actor. However some of his favorite engagements were in various Musicals such as South Pacific, Crazy for You and Noises Off, to name but a few. Never could he see "Dance" as a career in itself. He still saw himself as an actor.

Until now, Richard's favorite employment was as part of the world famous Walt Disney industry here in Florida at Disney World. Then he saw an ad for trainee dance teachers and rushed to audition. Richard was, to his delight and ours, successful.
